Recently Snapchat released a new update, in which they honored the true nature of storytelling. “every Story has a chronological order – a beginning, middle, and end.” “We built Stories to help Snapchatters create narratives and share them with all of their friends in just one tap.”

Up until this latest update, Snapchat felt as though there was something missing; an important part. They said that “There’s nothing like knowing you have the full attention of your friend while you’re chatting.”

This is why they were so happy to announce there latest feature which is Chat.

How does it work?

In your Snapchat inbox, your friends name will appear when you send them a Snap. All you have to do then is swipe right on their name and then you can start chatting. When you leave the chat screen, messages seen by both you and the person you are talking to will disappear – the same as an ordinary snap. But if there is some important information on the chat that you would like to keep, then all you have to do is tap on the message and it will save it – simple.

Not only is there a new messaging Chat feature, but there is also live video call. Your Snapchat will let you know when a friend is in your chat, so that you can give each other your full attention.

Press and hold to share live video – and Chat face-to-face!
